Experience at Viveris - Cybersecurity Engineer
My Experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer at Viveris
During my three years at Viveris, I developed my career as a Cybersecurity Engineer, working on high-value technical projects with critical security requirements. My day-to-day work was split between our internal teams and on-site assignments with clients, adapting to the specific constraints of each project.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
1. Linux Product Hardening
- Designing and applying security profiles for various embedded and industrial Linux distributions.
- Securing systems and minimizing the attack surface for platforms incorporating numerous COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) components.
- Implementing, configuring, and securing virtualized and containerized environments (Docker, isolated architectures).
2. SecOps & Space Industry Software Development
- Developing system automation tools and scripts for mission-critical space sector environments.
- Daily use of C, Python, and Bash for low-level system interaction.
- Gradual adoption of Rust for modern development focused on memory safety.
🚀 Key Achievement: Automating Vulnerability Tracking (SBOM)
During my time at Viveris, I co-developed and industrialized a vulnerability tracking solution designed for offline environments.
To overcome the limitations of an initial Proof of Concept—which required labor-intensive manual tasks and internet connectivity—we designed an architecture based on SBOMs (Software Bill of Materials). This solution fully automates the mapping of security vulnerabilities in industrial projects without ever exposing the system to the outside world.
This high-impact project was the subject of a public case study that I was proud to co-present at THCON 2025.
